In order to be a key influencer in the Kansas City art scene, Blue Monday Review held regular events to attract the city’s artists, writers, and poets while supporting local businesses. I helped BMR reach these goals by coordinating and promoting events.

Social media consultant

BMR had in-house social media managers whose enthusiasm built their brand online. However, Wurthmann Digital Marketing regularly provided guidance to social media volunteers for Facebook, Tumblr, and Twitter in order to optimize the literary magazine’s reach and engagement.

straight from the source

Helen Wurthmann has worked in multiple positions for Blue Monday Review since its creation in 2013, changing roles as our magazine grew and our needs changed. With every role, she has shown impressive initiative and enthusiasm for not only getting the base requirements handled efficiently and professionally, but also expanding each position for the good of the company. This is particularly impressive considering BMR is a small literary magazine that relies on unpaid volunteers for our staff, a fact that has never deterred her dedication or the quality of her work.

Helen’s current role with BMR is being the Blog Coordinator for our website (www.bluemondayreview.com). In this role, she writes at least one original blog per week and also helps to edit and post blogs from several guest and staff bloggers. The blogs she has written for BMR have demonstrably increased traffic to bluemondayreview.com. I believe this is not only due to Helen’s ability to select topics which appeal to our demographic and to pair those with provocative headlines, it is also due to the strength of her writing. Helen reliably writes blogs that are cohesive, creative, informative, witty, and professional. These qualities are essential to maintaining and improving BMR’s brand and reputation — as a literary magazine, to have blogs that are unpolished or rife with errors would be disastrous.

I can honestly say that BMR would not be the magazine it is today without her dedication and hard work. Helen is a pleasure to work with and I am confident she would thrive in any role she pursued.
